Job summary

Phabritek Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Product Engineer (Electronic & Electrical) in Penang to monitor daily production, optimize processes for LEDs, laser modules, and photodetectors, and resolve bottlenecks.

You’ll work with QA/QC to ensure quality, support specialized equipment installation and maintenance, and apply Lean/Six Sigma to drive improvements. You will collaborate with R&D, engineering, and quality teams on product development and pilot runs, writing SOPs and helping transfer prototypes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Optoelectronics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in a production or process engineering role (preferably in optoelectronics or semiconductor manufacturing).
• Familiarity with optoelectronic components and related fabrication/assembly techniques.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 or ISO/TS standards and cleanroom protocols.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluent in Mandarin, Malay and English (written and spoken) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage daily production activities to ensure efficiency and output targets.
• Optimize manufacturing processes for products like LEDs, laser modules, photodetectors, or optical sensors.
• Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and equipment issues.
• Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure product quality meets specifications. Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support installation, calibration, and maintenance of specialized optoelectronic manufacturing equipment (e.g., die bonders, wire bonders, reflow ovens). Ensure proper functioning of cleanroom protocols and ESD-safe practices.
• Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities. Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
• Maintain detailed records of production procedures, output data, and deviations. Assist in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and quality departments on product development and process transfer. Support pilot runs and transition from prototype to mass production.
