Job summary

The Advertiser in Segamat, Johor is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and optimise all manufacturing operations at our Segamat facility. This full-time role focuses on driving efficiency, ensuring safety and quality standards, and leading the operations team to meet business objectives.

You will manage daily operations, production scheduling, inventory control, and cross-functional collaboration with procurement, sales, and logistics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of operations management experience in manufacturing.
• Proven track record in managing production operations and leading teams.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management systems.
• Excellent understanding of HSE compliance standards.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and manufacturing software.
• Demonstrated ability to drive operational efficiency and cost optimisation without compromising quality.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Malay is required.
• Experience in the panel board industry is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily manufacturing operations and meet production targets within budget and quality specifications.
• Manage production scheduling, inventory control, and supply chain coordination to optimise workflow efficiency.
• Monitor and maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the manufacturing facility.
• Lead, supervise, and motivate the operations team, including maintenance team.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Conduct regular equipment maintenance inspections and coordinate preventive maintenance programmes.
• Manage quality control processes to ensure products meet established standards and customer requirements.
• Liaise with other departments including procurement, sales, and logistics to ensure seamless operations.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and develop strategic solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
• Prepare operational reports and present findings to senior management for decision-making.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at our facility in Segamat, Johor. This is a full-time position that offers a strategic opportunity to oversee and optimise all operational aspects of our manufacturing operations. The Operations Manager will play a crucial role in driving operational efficiency and output, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and leading our team to achieve business objectives. This role will report directly to senior management and will be responsible for managing daily operations, production scheduling, inventory management, and team performance.

• Experience in the panel board industry is highly desirable
• Willingness to work in a hands-on capacity and flexibility to address operational challenges as they arise
