DSV Air & Sea (Freight) Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia is seeking an Operations Assistant for Sea Freight SSC Import on a 1-year temporary basis.
You will coordinate with carriers, customers and internal teams to ensure shipments are monitored and moved accurately. The role emphasizes attention to detail, strong communication, and proficiency with CW1/TMS and other systems, while meeting customer KPIs and service standards.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Ocean Freight Operations Executive to manage shipment-related activities and ensure the accurate and timely movement of ocean freight in line with customer service standards.
The role involves coordinating with carriers, vendors, customers and internal DSV stakeholders to ensure shipments are properly monitored, updated and delivered according to agreed requirements.
Ensure the accurate and timely movement of ocean freight to and from designated locations in accordance with customer service standards.
Manage all vendor-facing communication and shipment-related internal communication with DSV stakeholders.
Update shipment arrival information accurately and promptly in TMS (CW1).
Receive and process Carrier Arrival Notices.
Monitor shipment arrival at CFS (Container Freight Station) and container arrival at CY (Container Yard), and update CW1 accordingly.
Verify actual shipment arrival dates with carriers, where applicable.
Ensure the Original MBL is properly surrendered to the carrier at origin or destination, where applicable.
Send Shipping Advice and Arrival Notice to consignees.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required activities in CW1.
Ensure compliance with customer-specific KPIs and service requirements.
Provide delivery details to Customer Service (CS), where applicable.
Provide shipment manifests and required shipment details to customs authorities, where applicable.
Issue Change Advice to consignees, where applicable.
Ensure the correct manifest is submitted to the co-loader.
Work closely with internal stakeholders, carriers, vendors and customers to resolve shipment-related matters.
Contribute to customer satisfaction and loyalty through professional and efficient service.
Support shipment profitability and operational efficiency while minimising unnecessary operating expenses.
Promote a paperless and digital working environment by effectively utilising DSV's communication systems and electronic tools.
Maintain high standards of accuracy, compliance and service quality in daily operations.
Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Business Administration or a related field.
Experience in Ocean Freight, Freight Forwarding or Logistics Operations will be an advantage.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Good command of written and spoken English and the local language.
Able to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
Strong computer skills, particularly in a Windows PC environment.
