Job summary

KS FIRE & SAFETY ENGINEERING SDN BHD is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our operations teams, oversee project delivery and maintenance activities. The role requires practical leadership with strong technical knowledge to manage people, coordinate site work and ensure jobs are completed safely, on time and to the required standards.

Job description

KS Fire & Safety Engineering Sdn Bhd specialises in fire protection systems installation, servicing and maintenance. We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead our operations teams and oversee project delivery and maintenance activities.

This role suits a practical leader with strong technical knowledge who can manage people, coordinate site work and ensure jobs are completed safely, on time and to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations, including installation, servicing, maintenance, testing and commissioning of fire protection systems.

Lead and supervise team leaders, engineers, technicians and subcontractors.

Plan manpower, work schedules, materials and equipment to meet project and maintenance requirements.

Monitor work progress, quality and costs, and resolve site issues promptly.

Conduct site visits, assess job requirements and provide technical guidance to the teams.

Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers and relevant authorities on operational and project matters.

Review work scopes, quotations, bills of quantities and technical documents with the relevant teams.

Ensure compliance with site safety procedures, client requirements and applicable fire safety requirements.

Monitor team performance, attendance and overtime requirements, and identify training needs.

Ensure service reports, progress updates and completion documents are accurate and submitted on time.

Report operational performance, outstanding issues and improvement plans to Management.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services or a related field. Candidates with substantial relevant practical experience are also encouraged to apply.

Preferably at least 5 years of relevant experience in fire protection, building services or engineering operations, including experience managing teams.

Knowledge of fire protection systems such as fire pumps, sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels and fire alarm systems.

Experience coordinating site work, maintenance activities and multiple teams.

Familiarity with BOMBA requirements and fire safety procedures would be an advantage.

Strong leadership, planning, communication and problem-solving skills.

Able to read technical drawings and review work scopes and project documentation.

Responsible, organised and able to work independently.

Possess a valid driving licence and be willing to travel to project sites.
