Job summary

Kejuruteraan Segar Sdn Bhd is seeking a Project Engineer to join our project team in Kuala Lumpur. You will coordinate and manage fire protection system projects from inception through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.

The role requires reading M&E drawings, coordinating with clients and contractors, and ensuring works meet project specifications. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, with preference for fire protection project experience.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience in fire protection, M&E or construction projects is an advantage.
• Able to read and understand M&E and construction drawings.
• AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage.
• Good site coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
• Possess own transport and willing to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and coordinate fire protection installation works at project sites.
• Review construction drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, architects, M&E contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Attend site meetings, coordination meetings and inspections.
• Monitor site progress and ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings and project schedule.
• Coordinate manpower, materials and equipment required for site works.
• Check site conditions and resolve technical and coordination issues.
• Coordinate shop drawings, material submissions, method statements and other technical submissions.
• Liaise with Drafter for drawing preparation, revisions and as-built drawings.
• Carry out quantity take-off and assist with material planning and procurement.
• Monitor subcontractors and site workers.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning of fire protection systems.
• Coordinate inspections and project handover where required.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain proper project records.
• Ensure works comply with project specifications, approved drawings and applicable fire protection requirements.

Requirements

• Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
• Experience in fire protection, M&E or construction projects will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of sprinkler, wet riser, dry riser, hose reel, fire alarm and related fire protection systems is preferred.
• Able to read and understand M&E and construction drawings.
• AutoCAD knowledge will be an advantage.
• Good site coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Responsible and able to work independently.
