Job summary

Veloce Global Logistics Sdn. Bhd. seeks an Ocean Freight Assistant skilled in freight forwarding and logistics to manage ocean export shipments and bookings. You will contact origins and destination agents to update key accounts and coordinate with carriers and lines to ensure timely status updates.

The role involves booking, BL prep, ISF/AMS submissions, and collaboration with customs brokers to resolve documentation issues while ensuring smooth delivery of consignments in a busy KL hub.

Qualifications

• Diploma/advanced diploma in logistics/transportation or equivalent.
• 1–3 years in a related logistics role preferred.
• Strong communication and English skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow up with origins and destination agents to update customers on status for key accounts.
• Coordinate with carriers, forwarding agents and shipping lines for vessel status and POD updates.
• Make bookings and BL preparation for ocean export shipments.
• Coordinate with customs broker to resolve documentation issues.
• Coordinate with local distribution/vendors for road transport when needed.
• Update shipment tracking sheets and create jobs in the system for ocean shipments.
• Handle costing and billing for import and export jobs.
• Coordinate with agents and customers on documentation requirements.
• Submit and ensure ISF/AMS submissions are completed.

Job description

Ocean Freight Assistant role specialising in Freight Forwarding & Logistics. You will follow up with origins and destination agents to update customers with status at all stages for key accounts, coordinate with carriers, forwarding agents and shipping lines, and manage ocean export shipments and bookings.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up with origins and destination agents in order to update customer with status at all stages for key account
• Follow Up with the carriers, forwarding agent and shipping lines for the status of vessel arrival, to ensure the cargo is cleared and delivered to customer. Update system with POD.
• Follow up and make bookings and BL preparation for Ocean Export shipments.
• Co-ordinate with Custom Broker in solving discrepancies /problem in documentation.
• Co-ordinate with Local Distribution/ vendors in arranging necessary trailers/trucks for the smooth delivery of the consignment/shipments by Ocean and Road (when required).
• Update the tracking sheet with shipment status.
• Create jobs in system for all ocean shipments.
• Complete Costing & Billing for Import & Export jobs.
• Co-ordinate with Agents & Customer on documentation requirements.
• Submit and ensure compliance for ISF/AMS submissions

About you

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Logistic/Transportation or equivalent.
• At least 1 to 3 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Required Skill(s): Communicative, Fast Learner, Goal Oriented, Listener, English Proficiency.
