Job summary

Nexperia in Malaysia seeks a Mold Technical Expert to drive molding technology across Back-End sites, optimizing equipment and tooling. You will lead cross-site projects and deliver improvements in quality, delivery, productivity, and cost while sharing best practices.

Reporting to the Back-End Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with Package R&D, procurement, and local sites, benchmark equipment, and ensure alignment with roadmaps. Travel to sites as needed to advance the molding agenda.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of experience as Equipment/Tooling/Process/R&D Engineer specializing in molding in semiconductor industry.
• Hands-on experience with molding machines (ASM, Towa, Yamada, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, tooling, electrical, AOI, and mechatronics systems.
• Knowledge of tooling materials and coatings.
• Experience with PDCA, 8D, DMAIC, QC Tools, and FMEA.
• Experience writing and reviewing equipment purchase specs.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and deliver presentations.
• Experience in technical project leadership and cross-site collaboration.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Be a member of cross-site Back-End Engineering Team for molding process and report to the Back-End Engineering Manager.
• Lead breakthrough molding projects by leveraging internal and external networks.
• Collaborate with site Engineering teams for cross-site process execution.
• Share best practices across sites and monitor deployment.
• Drive OEE, quality and productivity improvements with sites and suppliers.
• Act as equipment and tooling technical expert with Package R&D, Business Groups, and Procurement.
• Lead the Mold User Group and oversee equipment benchmarking across sites.
• Ensure Package Roadmap aligns with installed base and capability.
• Travel to different sites as required.
