Job summary

Infineon Technologies AG in Malaysia seeks a Staff Engineer Unit Process Engineering to lead root-cause analysis and optimization for complex molding challenges, drive yield, quality and cost improvements, and ensure robust tooling and process control in high-volume production.

You will champion 8D problem resolution, maintain process documentation, and provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence and project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master degree in Mechanical/ Electrical / Electronics / Microelectronics / Mechatronics / Semiconductor Technology
• Minimum 5 years related experience in Mold technology or Semiconductor manufacturing with focus on transfer molding (MapMold and Cavity)
• Knowledge of moldability concepts to prevent molding defects
• Familiarity with 8D, DMAIC, Process Mapping, FTA, Fishbone etc.

Responsibilities

• Lead root-cause analysis for complex molding defects and demonstrate understanding of fluid dynamics to resolve issues.
• Optimize transfer molding parameters (speed, pressure, cure) for high-density wire profiles.
• Review and ensure proper gate placement, runner balance, and venting before tooling fabrication.
• Sustain and improve technologies in volume production focusing on stability, quality, productivity and yield.
• Drive 8D closure for FAR, MRB, DDM and SCAR.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Lead yield and quality improvement projects and cost-saving initiatives.
• Maintain process documentation (Process spec, OJTi, FMEA, failure catalogue, buildsheet).
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams.
