Job summary

Agensi Pekerjaan Minde Group Sdn Bhd in Senai, Johor, Malaysia, is seeking a Mold Assembly Engineer to lead process optimization in the mold and injection molding department. You will direct the activities of the Control Plan Administrator and work with a cross-functional team to improve manufacturability.

The role requires a technical degree with 5+ years of molding experience, knowledge of advanced analysis tools (flow analysis, FEA) and hot runner systems, and familiarity with Six Sigma

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical field such as engineering or chemistry.
• Minimum 5+ years of equivalent work experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in injection molding of thermoplastics and mold design for manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities of the Control Plan Administrator.
• Analyze and resolve process problems and implement cost-reduction programs.
• Evaluate and propose use of new technology and equipment.
• Develop mold design software library to reduce time to market.
• Use analysis software to enhance molding process accuracy (5-step, flow analysis, FEA).
• Drive tool design and build to support scientific injection molding.
• Work with cross-functional teams and LEAN Product Development.
• Use Six Sigma methods for problem solving.
• Travel to suppliers/plants to support development and project releases.

Job Descriptions

• Direct the activities of the Control Plan Administrator
• Analyze and resolve process problems initiate and implement cost reduction programs to process technology in molding department
• Evaluate and propose use of new technology and equipment
• Reduce Time to Market and optimize design re-use by developing a mold design software library
• Utilize analysis software applications to enhance molding process accuracy (5-step process, flow analysis, FEA)
• Drive the design and build of tools to support scientific injection molding (Balanced runners, melt flipper, cavity pressure)
• Work within a cross functional team and participate in LEAN Product Development
• Utilize statistical analysis for problem solving (Six Sigma)
• Travel to suppliers/plants in order to support development/fine-tuning and or project release
• Champion flexible manufacturing and integrate flexible platforms into designs

Job Requirements

• Degree in a technical field of study, engineering or chemistry or minimum of 5+ years of equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment providing direct customer technical assistance
• Technical experience in injection molding of thermoplastics related to Design for Manufacturability of molds, processing of thermoplastics, robotics, automation and hot runner systems
• Familiarity with statistical problem solving techniques
• High cavitation/hot runner experience preferred
• Position as a Molding Engineer with the Industrial China Manufacturing Engineering team
• Will be expected to function in a simultaneous engineering environment to assist in developing new product that is optimized for manufacturability
