Job summary

Marrybrown Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced MIS Manager to lead our MIS infrastructure and operations from Johor Bahru. This full-time role requires strong leadership, strategic IT governance, and hands-on expertise with POS and back-office systems across a retail and F&B environment.

You will guide a skilled MIS team, drive digital transformation, and partner with multiple departments to align technology with business goals while ensuring security, compliance, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial IT/MIS role.
• Minimum 5 years working experience with Point of Sales and Back-Office systems in Retail/F&B.
• Proven experience managing IT teams and leading cross-functional projects.
• Experience with system performance monitoring, analysis, and reporting tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and cloud technologies (e.g., Office 365, Lark).
• Excellent leadership with ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

About the role

We are looking for an experienced MIS Manager to join our organization on a full-time basis in Johor Bahru District, Johor. This is a strategic position within our Information and Communication Technology Management function, responsible for overseeing our management information systems infrastructure and operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our IT systems support business objectives, enhance operational efficiency, and drive digital transformation across the organization. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to managing complex IT environments.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the management and maintenance of all management information systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
• Develop and implement MIS strategies aligned with organizational business objectives and IT governance frameworks
• Manage the MIS team, including recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development
• Monitor system performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and uptime
• Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
• Conduct regular system audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and opportunities for enhancement
• Manage IT budgets, procurement processes, and vendor relationships for systems and infrastructure
• Provide strategic advice to senior management on technology investments and digital transformation initiatives
• Coordinate with other departments to understand their IT requirements and deliver tailored solutions
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, policies, and procedures for MIS operations
• Lead incident management and disaster recovery planning to ensure business continuity

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in managerial position in IT/MIS department. Proven skills in planning and prompt execution.
• Minimum 5 years working experience in Point of Sales and Back-Office System area, preferably in Retail and/or F&B industry.
• Proven experience managing IT teams and leading cross-functional projects
• Proficiency in system performance monitoring, analysis, and reporting tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Good working knowledge in Microsoft Office including Cloud Technologies such as Lark / Office 365.
• Excellent team leader with good management skills. Able to work independently and in a group, result oriented and highly motivated.
