About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to join the MARRYBROWN team at our Cyberjaya, Selangor location. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to develop your management skills within a dynamic retail and consumer products environment. As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Restaurant Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety. This position is vital to the success of our restaurant and offers significant potential for career progression within our growing organisation.

Key responsibilities

Support the Restaurant Manager in managing all aspects of daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures

Oversee staff scheduling, training, and performance management to ensure adequate staffing levels and consistent service quality

Monitor food preparation, presentation, and service standards to ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations

Manage inventory control, stock rotation, and ordering of food and beverage supplies in coordination with suppliers

Ensure the restaurant maintains cleanliness and hygiene standards across all areas, including kitchen, dining, and restroom facilities

Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally to maintain customer satisfaction

Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and development of restaurant staff

Maintain accurate records of cash handling, sales reports, and daily operations documentation

Support promotional activities and marketing initiatives to drive customer engagement and sales

Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and food hygiene legislation and company procedures

What we're looking for

Proven experience in restaurant or food service management, ideally in a supervisory or assistant manager capacity

Strong leadership and team management abilities with experience motivating and training staff

Excellent knowledge of food safety, health and hygiene standards, and relevant regulatory requirements

Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to handle customer interactions professionally and courteously

Strong organisational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer literacy

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Bahasa Malaysia

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as required by the business

A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement

Relevant qualifications or certifications in hospitality management or food service are advantageous
