Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Material Planner Executive to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and packaging to support production schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role involves demand planning, supplier coordination, inventory control, and continuous improvement of material flow to meet customer requirements and company objectives. Candidates should have 2–4 years of experience in material planning and strong ERP/MRP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in material planning or supply chain
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems such as SAP or Oracle
• Proficient in Excel and reporting tools; ability to work under pressure

Responsibilities

• The Material Planner Executive is responsible for ensuring timely availability of raw materials, components, and packaging to support production schedules
• Develop and execute material requirement plans (MRP) based on production forecasts and customer demand
• Monitor material availability and align with production schedules to avoid line stoppages
• Coordinate with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth material flow
• Work closely with procurement team to follow up on purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier commitments
• Support supplier performance monitoring and improvement initiatives
• Maintain optimum stock levels to balance cost efficiency and production continuity
• Track and analyze inventory movement, ensuring accuracy of material data in ERP system
• Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or excess stock and propose corrective actions
• Update material planning systems (ERP/MRP) with lead times, MOQ, and safety stock levels
• Generate weekly/monthly reports on inventory, shortages, and material planning KPIs
• Provide input for S&OP meetings
• Ensure compliance with ISO/IATF standards and safety regulations
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to optimize supply chain efficiency
• Support cost reduction initiatives through better planning and supplier collaboration

1. Material Planning & Scheduling

• Develop and execute material requirement plans (MRP) based on production forecasts and customer demand.
• Monitor material availability and align with production schedules to avoid line stoppages.
• Coordinate with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth material flow.

2. Supplier & Procurement Coordination

• Work closely with procurement team to follow up on purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier commitments.
• Liaise with suppliers to resolve shortages, delays, or quality issues.
• Support supplier performance monitoring and improvement initiatives.

3. Inventory Management

• Maintain optimum stock levels to balance cost efficiency and production continuity.
• Track and analyze inventory movement, ensuring accuracy of material data in ERP system.
• Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or excess stock and propose corrective actions.

4. Data Management & Reporting

• Update material planning systems (ERP/MRP) with accurate lead times, MOQ, and safety stock levels.
• Generate weekly/monthly reports on inventory, shortages, and material planning KPIs.
• Provide input for S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) meetings.

5. Compliance & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO/IATF standards, and safety regulations.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to optimize supply chain efficiency.
• Support cost reduction initiatives through better planning and supplier collaboration.
