Job summary

BW Yee Seng Steel Industries is seeking a Material and Production Planning Executive in Penang. You will develop material and production plans, issue work orders, and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure smooth production flow and on-time delivery.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field and at least 2 years in planning and material control, with leadership qualities and the ability to handle challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree/diploma/professional qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a Planning & Material Control environment.
• Possess leadership qualities, budget-conscious attributes and a team player.
• Able to plan and work under extreme challenges.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain material plans based on production schedules, sales forecasts, and inventory levels; ensure timely availability of materials.
• Prepare and issue production work orders; develop daily, weekly and monthly production schedules.
• Coordinate with Production, Sales, Warehouse, Procurement and Quality departments to ensure smooth production flow.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules for changes in priorities, machine availability or customer requirements.
• Track production performance against the production plan.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to align material planning with manufacturing needs; adjust plans as necessary to changes in schedules.

Material and Production Planning Executive

• Material Planning: Develop and maintain material plans based on production schedules, sales forecasts, and inventory levels. Ensure timely availability of materials to prevent production delays.
• Production Planning: Prepare and issue production work orders. Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders, forecast demand, and production capacity. Coordinate with Production, Sales, Warehouse, Procurement, and Quality departments to ensure smooth production flow.
• Production Planning: Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to accommodate changes in priorities, machine availability, or customer requirements.
• Track production performance against the production plan.
• Production Support: Collaborate with production and engineering teams to align material planning with manufacturing needs. Adjust plans as necessary to accommodate changes in production schedules or unforeseen circumstances.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices in material planning and inventory management.
• A bachelor degree/diploma/professional qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a Planning & Material Control environment.
