Job summary

Pacific International Lines (PIL) in Malaysia seeks a highly experienced Utilization Manager to join the Selangor team. The role focuses on optimizing cargo space and ensuring efficient vessel utilization, coordinating with partners and internal teams.

The ideal candidate has 3–4 years in the maritime industry, strong English communication, and a change-management mindset to adapt to evolving business needs. Microsoft 365 proficiency is preferred for daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3–4 years of experience in the maritime industry or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Change management mindset and adaptability to evolving business needs.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Control and monitor space to fulfill BSA/ BWA.
• Coordinate with consortium partner, CS team, Operation team, and terminal.
• Manage allocation by customer and cargo mix to optimize space utilization.
• Provide forecast (CBF) to partner and trade 3 times a week.
• Monitor and update loading factor; share with Sales, CS, PILHQ Trade for actions.
• Summarize final lifting volume to Operation Department for stowage planning.
• Set direction to drive weekly sales activities.
• Track customer performance on a regular basis.
• Collect and share market intel and feedback with Trade.
• Monitor vessel schedule and update closing time to all concerned parties.
