Job summary

Sonovision Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a qualified aerospace maintenance engineer to evaluate maintenance reports and produce detailed technical justifications. You will coordinate with flight ops, maintenance planning, design office, and operators to drive timely resolutions.

The role requires strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge of AMM/AMP/IPC/SRM documents, GD&T interpretation, and the ability to work both in teams and independently on complex tasks.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skill within engineering scope, with aerospace engineering background.
• Possesses strong knowledge with aircraft maintenance documentations such as AMM/AMP/IPC/SRM and Airbus familiarity.
• Technical knowledge and experience in aircraft maintenance planning, procedures and operations.
• Proficient in interpreting aircraft structure drawings and GD&T.
• Understanding of aerospace materials, heat/surface treatments, fasteners, and bonding.
• Able to work in a team and to work autonomously to complete tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical assessment of maintenance reports to identify relevance to the selected task.
• Analyze reports and provide detailed technical evaluation per OEM rules.
• Compile technical justification with statistical data and OEM guidance.
• Provide recommendations for maintenance interval adjustments based on feedback.
• Coordinate with multi-stakeholder teams including flight ops, maintenance, and design office.
• Attend technical meetings with Airbus Design Office, Safety Assessment, and others; transfer learning to management.

1. Perform technical assessment of maintenance report/findings from operator or maintenance organization:

• To identify if the report is relevant for the selected maintenance task
• To categorize valid/relevant maintenance reports base on the applicable rules provided by aircraft manufacturer/OEM
• To analyze and provide detailed technical evaluation of the maintenance reports base on assessment criteria provided by aircraft manufacturer/OEM

2. Analyze and compile technical justification upon completing technical evaluation of affected maintenance tasks:

• To produce technical justification with the result of the statistical data analysis base on the given policy by aircraft manufacturer/OEM
• To write technical justification for possible escalation/de-escalation of the maintenance interval base on Design Office feedback, in-service experience and Scheduled Maintenance Team feedback.
• To provide recommendation/proposal for new maintenance interval

3. Coordinate, consult and/or working with multi-stakeholder team involving flight ops, scheduled maintenance, design office, operators:

• To obtain required technical and/or operational inputs
• Timely follow-up open topics for affected technical dossiers
• Review & update action plans for achieving expected changes

4. Responsible to conduct/attend technical meetings with aircraft manufacturer/OEM (Airbus departments such as Design Office, Safety Assessment team, Scheduled Maintenance Team), Operator, Authority, etc

5. Ensure transfer of in-service experience and maintenance program activities to the management, to other departments for continuous improvement

6. Anticipation studies and industrialization preparation relevant to aircraft structural repair projects and maintenance programs

• Strong analytical skill within engineering scope, with aerospace engineering background.
• Possesses strong knowledge with aircraft maintenance documentations such as (AMM, AMP, IPC, SRM etc) and preferably expertise with Airbus fleet.
• Possesses technical knowledge and experience in aircraft maintenance planning, procedures and operations.
• Proficient in interpreting aircraft structure drawings and GD&T.
• Understanding of aerospace materials, heat/surface treatments, fasteners, and bonding
• Ability to work in a team and to be autonomous to complete full task alone.
