Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a degreed Diploma holder in Mechanical Engineering to oversee the maintenance of all machines and equipment, manage spare parts inventory, and train technicians. The role emphasises proactive maintenance, safety, and continuous improvement within a busy manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include rapid response to breakdowns, preventive maintenance planning, quality issue troubleshooting with cross-functional teams, and mentoring technicians to enhance skill

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to lead a maintenance team and manage downtime.

Responsibilities

• Respond to all machine breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
• Repair and maintain machines, plus basic office and factory maintenance.
• Plan and implement preventive maintenance programmes.
• Troubleshoot machine-related quality issues with relevant departments and implement countermeasures.
• Plan and manage spare parts inventory for quick access to critical parts.
• Implement maintenance policies and document in the quality management system such as ISO/TS.
• Lead maintenance programme, machine upgrading and improvement projects.
• Supervise, coach and develop technicians to higher competency levels.
• Train production teams on basic machine maintenance and early breakdown detection.
• Ensure reports on breakdowns, parts replaced and countermeasures are completed and analyzed.
• Supervise mould repairs to minimize downtime and meet timelines.
• Address basic maintenance requests for plumbing, electrical, etc., with Safety & Health coordination.
• Lead special projects and ensure timely completion.
• Drive documentation and data analysis of downtime for performance tracking.
• Lead communication when disseminating information across teams.

Holds a Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Responsible for the overall maintenance of machines and equipment including spare parts inventory management and the training and development of technicians

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to all machine breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime


• Machine repair and maintenance including basic office and factory maintenance


• Plan and implement preventive maintenance programmes


• Trouble shoot machine-related quality issues with the relevant departments and offer countermeasures including monitor the implementation of these measures


• Plan and manage spare parts inventory to ensure critical parts are available quickly


• Implement maintenance policies and procedures as set out in the quality management system


• Implement maintenance programme, machine upgrading and improvement


• Supervise, coach and develop the skills level of the technicians to a higher level of competency


• Train and develop production teams on basic machine maintenance and as well as being able to identify potential machine breakdowns


• Ensure technicians complete all reports on breakdown repairs, parts replaced and countermeasures taken, etc on each machine repaired or serviced and analyse these data to track the performance of the machines


• Supervise the completion of mould repairs within the agreed timelines so as to minimize downtime


• Meet office and factory requests for basic maintenance, repair and / or fixing of plumbing systems, electrical fittings, etc and work closely with the Safety and Health on these matters


• Supervise special project work to ensure completion within deadline


• Train production and related department on basic machine maintenance


• Implement ISO/TS process and maintain proper documentation


• Maintain monthly downtime report and analysis


• Lead the communication process when information needs to be disseminated


• Support and carry out responsibility assigned related to Safety, Health & Environment


• Ability to lead and work as a team
