O-I BJC Malaysia is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop and manage rolling annual maintenance plans across disciplines within Reliability. You will use CMMS to schedule and issue work orders, coordinate with stakeholders, and lead pre-planning meetings to publish weekly maintenance plans.
The role requires 3–5 years in industrial maintenance with at least 2 years in planning or scheduling, and proficiency in CMMS and MS Office. Safety training including LOTO/PTW is preferred.
Develop and manage rolling annual maintenance plans for all disciplines within the Reliability function.
Utilise the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to develop, schedule and issue maintenance work orders, while effectively managing maintenance planning activities.
Develop single-cycle maintenance plans and one-off solutions to address reliability issues through analysis of equipment performance and maintenance data.
Coordinate with key stakeholders to determine and agree on maintenance activities to be included in the weekly maintenance plan.
Lead weekly pre-planning meetings with Reliability and Maintenance team members to review, coordinate and publish weekly maintenance plans.
Manage the procurement and availability of materials required for planned maintenance activities.
Coordinate the use of contract labour for maintenance work requiring specialized skills or resources beyond the capability of in-house maintenance personnel.
Provide training and technical support to site users on the CMMS and maintenance planning processes.
Analyze reliability and maintenance performance data, identify improvement opportunities, and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance effectiveness and equipment reliability.
Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management from time to time.
Job Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
3–5 years of direct industrial maintenance experience, with at least 2 years of experience in maintenance planning, scheduling or coordination.
Proficient in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and familiar with maintenance planning and work order management.
Good understanding of mechanical systems, maintenance practices and safety procedures, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and PTW (Permit to Work).
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
Strong coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple maintenance activities and priorities effectively.
