Job summary

Able Dairies Sdn Bhd is seeking a Maintenance & Projects Manager to lead maintenance, engineering, utilities, facilities and CAPEX across three manufacturing plants located in Teluk Panglima Garang.

You will drive equipment reliability, minimize downtime, manage budgets, and mentor a technical team while ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance and delivering ongoing process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant experience with leadership responsibility in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing multiple manufacturing plants is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, utilities, facilities management, project management, and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment.
• Experience in machinery installation, commissioning, factory expansion, and continuous improvement projects.
• Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance management systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee maintenance, engineering, utilities, facilities, and project activities across three manufacturing plants.
• Ensure all machinery, production equipment, utilities, and facilities are maintained to support uninterrupted operations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance programs to maximize reliability and minimize downtime.
• Manage plant improvement, machinery installation, upgrading, expansion, automation, and CAPEX projects from planning through completion.
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for equipment failures and operational issues.
• Monitor maintenance performance, equipment reliability, utility consumption, and engineering KPIs; implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, contractor performance, and engineering resources.
• Ensure compliance with safety, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements; support audits and certifications.
• Collaborate with Management, Production and Quality Assurance to support business objectives.
• Coach and develop maintenance personnel to enhance technical competency and team performance.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, productivity, energy efficiency, and process optimization across all plants.
• Prepare and present maintenance, engineering, and project reports to Management.

Job description

The Maintenance & Projects Manager is responsible for leading and managing all maintenance, engineering, utilities, facilities, and project activities across three manufacturing plants. The role ensures equipment reliability, plant efficiency, minimal downtime, successful project implementation, and compliance with safety, food safety, and regulatory requirements. The incumbent will work closely with various departments to drive continuous improvement, asset reliability, cost optimization, and operational excellence across all plants.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all maintenance, engineering, utilities, facilities, and project activities across three manufacturing plants.
• Ensure all machinery, production equipment, utilities, and facilities are maintained in good working condition to support uninterrupted operations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Manage plant improvement, machinery installation, upgrading, expansion, automation, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects from planning through completion.
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for equipment failures and operational issues.
• Monitor maintenance performance, equipment reliability, utility consumption, and engineering KPIs, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, contractor performance, and engineering resources effectively.

• Identify opportunities for cost savings, productivity improvement, energy efficiency, and process optimization across all plants.
• Prepare and present maintenance, engineering, and project reports to Management as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates from Food, Dairy or Beverage Manufacturing, FMCG, or other related manufacturing industries are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience in food manufacturing environments and exposure to food safety standards such as GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, or Halal requirements will be an added advantage.
