Job summary

KPF Hotel Management Sdn. Bhd. seeks an experienced Maintenance Manager for a property in the Kajang-Bangi-Serdang area, Selangor. The role oversees building maintenance, mechanical systems, and facilities management to uphold cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction.

You will lead maintenance staff, plan programmes, coordinate with contractors, manage budgets, ensure compliance with codes, and drive energy efficiency. This is a full-time role in a hotel setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in maintenance management, preferably in hospitality or hotel facilities.
• Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
• Proven leadership and ability to train and supervise maintenance staff.
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to hotels.
• Experience with maintenance management software and record-keeping.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to join our team at our property in the Kajang-Bangi-Serdang area of Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial strategic role in ensuring the optimal functioning and presentation of our hotel facilities. As Maintenance Manager, you will oversee all aspects of building maintenance, mechanical systems, and facilities management, ensuring that our property meets the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency. Your leadership and technical expertise will be vital in maintaining guest satisfaction and protecting the hotel's assets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all maintenance staff, including scheduling, training, performance management and ensuring adherence to safety standards
• Plan and oversee routine maintenance programmes for all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components
• Conduct regular inspections of the hotel facilities to identify maintenance issues, assess repair priorities and implement corrective actions
• Manage maintenance budgets and cost control, including procurement of materials and equipment, whilst ensuring value for money
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and emergency repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations
• Maintain comprehensive maintenance records, equipment logs and documentation for compliance and future reference
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and health and safety standards
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialised maintenance work and major repairs
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and extend asset lifespan
• Collaborate with other departments, particularly Front Office and Housekeeping, to ensure seamless operations
• Monitor energy consumption and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce operational costs

What we're looking for

• Proven experience of at least 5 years in a maintenance management role, preferably within the hospitality, hotel or similar facility management environment
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical systems
• Demonstrated leadership and team management experience with the ability to train, motivate and supervise maintenance staff effectively
• Sound understanding of health and safety regulations, building codes and compliance requirements relevant to hotels and public facilities
• Proficiency in maintenance management software and computer systems, with strong organisational skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels and external contractors
• Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree or related certification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or Facilities Management
• Valid driving licence and willingness to be on-call for emergency maintenance situations
• Preference for candidates with experience in luxury or upscale hotel properties
• Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices in hospitality operations
