Job summary

NAI COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer / EHS in Bayan Lepas, Penang, to maintain production equipment and facilities while ensuring safety and compliance.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, monitor equipment reliability and support EHS initiatives. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, experience with facility systems, and a proactive approach to 5S and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Environmental/Safety Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant working experience in equipment maintenance, facility maintenance and/or EHS within a manufacturing environment.
• Good hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting and facility maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of EHS requirements, workplace risk assessment, incident investigation and safe work practices.
• Familiarity with 5S, Visual Management, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement.
• Good documentation, coordination and follow-up skills.
• Able to work effectively with production teams, contractors and other departments.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance for production equipment, machinery and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and coordinate repairs to minimize production disruption.
• Monitor equipment condition and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, maintenance records and equipment documentation.
• Coordinate with production and engineering teams on equipment-related issues and improvement activities.
• Coordinate external contractors and service providers for maintenance and repair activities when required.
• Ensure tools, equipment and facilities are maintained in safe and good working condition.
• Support installation, relocation, modification and commissioning of equipment when required.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of company Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements.
• Conduct workplace inspections and identify potential safety hazards and unsafe conditions.
