Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team in Pasir Gudang, Johor. You will report to the Maintenance Manager and work with two technical specialists to ensure machinery reliability, safety, and efficiency across the facility.

You will execute preventive maintenance, perform root-cause analyses during breakdowns, and support ISO audits (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001). This hands-on role covers electrical, mechanical, and utility systems, including the WWTP,

Responsibilities

• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Execute and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for all production machinery, electrical panels, and utility systems to minimize unscheduled downtime.
• Troubleshooting & Breakdown Analysis: Rapidly diagnose mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic faults during production disruptions; perform root‑cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Utility & WWTP Operations: Oversee the routine maintenance and troubleshooting of site utility facilities, with a focus on keeping the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) running smoothly and in compliance with environmental standards.
• ISO Compliance & Documentation: Prepare, update, and archive maintenance records, equipment logs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and service reports to satisfy ISO standard audits and regulatory compliance.
• Spare Parts Management: Monitor spare parts inventories, identify critical component requirements, and collaborate with procurement teams to manage supplier orders for timely repairs.
• Safety & Environment: Adhere strictly to Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) guidelines, ensuring safe work practices during technical maintenance tasks (e.g., LOTO procedures, permit‑to‑work).

In this role, you will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and work closely alongside a small, highly collaborative team of two experienced technical specialists. As a critical member of the maintenance division, your primary responsibility will be ensuring the continuous reliability, safety, and efficiency of all mechanical, electrical, and automated machinery across our facility. You will be directly involved in executing structured preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, conducting thorough root‑cause failure analyses during unexpected breakdowns, and modernizing routine service routines.

Beyond standard equipment upkeeps, this position offers a dynamic environment where you will take a hands‑on approach to managing facility assets. You will oversee critical utility systems, including our dedicated on‑site Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), ensuring daily operational compliance with local environmental standards and internal safety metrics. Furthermore, you will play an active role in maintain system documentation, preparing machine history records, and supporting rigorous ISO audit requirements (such as ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 14001 environmental management protocols).
