Job summary

APG Geotechnics Sdn. Bhd. seeks a skilled M&E Coordinator to lead installation coordination for hospital projects, ensuring compliance with drawings, specs and schedules.

You will liaise with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to drive smooth execution. Responsibilities include reviewing M&E shop drawings, material approvals, and as-built docs; coordinating with architectural, civil, and structural teams to prevent clashes; monitoring site progress, inspections, and handover of hospital M&E

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of M&E coordination experience in hospital projects.
• Experience coordinating hospital M&E systems including medical gas, ACMV, ICU, and power systems.
• Familiar with M&E drawings, shop drawings, specs, and site coordination procedures.
• Able to liaise with consultants, contractors, and project management teams.
• Knowledge of Malaysian standards, authority requirements, and healthcare facility guidelines.

Job description

Coordinate and supervise Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) installation works for high rise building/hospital projects to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.

Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project team members to ensure smooth execution of M&E works.

Review and coordinate M&E shop drawings, technical submissions, material approvals, and as-built drawings.

Ensure proper coordination of M&E services with architectural, civil, and structural works to avoid clashes and site installation issues.

Monitor the installation and coordination of hospital-specific systems, including:

Medical gas pipeline systems and medical gas alarm systems.

ACMV systems for operating theatres, isolation rooms, ICUs, and other critical areas.

Electrical power distribution, emergency generators, UPS, and essential power systems.

Fire protection and fire alarm systems.

Plumbing, drainage, and other mechanical services.

Coordinate with relevant consultants and specialist contractors to ensure hospital M&E systems meet project specifications and applicable healthcare facility requirements.

Monitor site progress, conduct inspections, identify defects, and follow up on corrective actions to ensure timely completion of works.

Coordinate testing, commissioning, and integrated testing of hospital M&E systems before project handover.

Attend site coordination meetings and prepare progress reports, inspection records, technical documentation, and handover documents.

Ensure compliance with applicable Malaysian standards, authority requirements, occupational safety requirements, and project quality procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned by the superior.

Job Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

Minimum 5 years of relevant M&E coordination experience in hospital projects.

Experience coordinating hospital M&E systems, particularly medical gas systems, operating theatre ACMV, ICU systems, emergency power supply, and other critical building facilities.

Good understanding of M&E drawings, shop drawings, technical specifications, installation methods, and site coordination procedures.

Able to liase with M&E consultants, specialist contractors, subcontractors, and project management teams.

Knowledge of testing and commissioning procedures and hospital M&E handover requirements.

Familiarity with relevant Malaysian standards, authority requirements, and healthcare facility guidelines.

Strong coordination, communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

A good team player & able to work independently.
