Job summary

KCJ ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. is seeking a proactive M&E Coordinator to oversee mechanical and electrical works across the project lifecycle.

You will coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, contractors and subcontractors to ensure drawings, specs and submissions align with project requirements. The role requires a Diploma or Degree in M&E related fields, 3–5 years of experience, and strong communication and coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in M&E engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in M&E coordination or construction.
• Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services and site installation works.
• Able to read and interpret M&E drawings and technical documents.
• Knowledge of Malaysian statutory requirements is an advantage.

M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) Coordinator

Coordinate and monitor Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works throughout the project lifecycle.

Coordinate M&E activities with Project Managers, Engineers, consultants, contractors and subcontractors.

Review M&E drawings, specifications, shop drawings, method statements and technical submissions.

Ensure M&E works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.

Coordinate M&E works with architectural, civil and structural works to avoid clashes and delays.

Monitor the progress and quality of M&E installation works at site.

Attend site inspections and coordinate testing, commissioning and handover activities.

Identify and resolve technical issues, site constraints and M&E coordination problems.

Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure works comply with approved methods and quality standards.

Coordinate material submissions, technical documents, inspection requests and relevant M&E documentation.

Attend site meetings and provide updates on M&E progress, issues and required actions.

Monitor M&E work schedules and coordinate activities to meet project milestones.

Assist in reviewing as-built drawings, testing and commissioning records and handover documents.

Ensure M&E works comply with applicable safety, statutory and project requirements.

Perform other M&E coordination duties assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, M&E Engineering or a related field.

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in M&E coordination, construction or engineering projects.

Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services and site installation works.

Experience in coordinating M&E works with civil, structural and architectural works.

Able to read and interpret M&E drawings, specifications, shop drawings and technical documents.

Good understanding of testing, commissioning and M&E inspection procedures.

Knowledge of relevant Malaysian statutory requirements, standards and authority requirements is an advantage.

Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Able to coordinate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, consultants and project teams.

Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD or other relevant technical software is an advantage.

Detail-oriented, organised and able to manage multiple activities and deadlines.

Willing to work at project sites and travel when required.
