Job summary

Paragon Globe Berhad, a listed investment holding company on Bursa Malaysia with core businesses in property development and construction, is seeking an experienced M&E Engineer to join our Grand Paragon Hotel project in Johor Bahru. The role requires coordinating M&E works with sub-contractors, consultants, and clients to ensure timely project delivery and compliance with safety standards.

• Bachelor-level or Diploma in M&E Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of M&E experience in building construction.
• Ability to coordinate M&E works with Sub-Contractors, Consultants and Client.
• Ability to manage and resolve on-site technical issues.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Proficient in writing and communicating in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Attend site meetings and inspect progress, reporting regularly on status.
• Assist Project Manager in planning and executing project plans at site.
• Monitor work progress and quality to meet contract, legal and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations and health and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with main contractor and sub-contractors to deliver projects per schedule.
• Review method statements and risk assessments before activities commence.
• Support on-site delivery of materials aligned to schedules.
• Lead remediation of M&E defects identified in audits and inspections.
• Prepare monthly site reports with the monitoring team.
• May represent the project during QA audits by consultants and regulators.

Job description

Attend site meeting and inspection, report regularly on progress and monitor schedule.

Assist Project Manager in planning and execution of project plan at site.

Assist in the monitoring of work progress and quality controls to comply with the contract, legal and other requirements.

Ensure work is done in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.

Ensure compliance with legislated workplace health and safety requirements.

Co-ordinate with main contractor and sub-contractors to ensure project delivery in-line with work schedule.

Review detailed Method Statements and Risk Assessments prior to work activities commencement.

Monitor work progress to ensure delivery in-line with work schedule, adjust workflows as necessary to achieve or better completion date.

Manage delivery of materials in-line with work schedule and progress on site.

Technical knowledge in the application of engineering, environmental science, procurement, construction, testing, operations, or decommissioning practices sufficient to comprehend specified engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, operations, decommissioning and regulatory requirements.

Knowledge of the application of corrective actions to reconcile nonconforming conditions.

Lead and govern the remediation of M+E defects identified through audits and inspections.

Conduct close-out inspections of structural remediation work and projects onsite.

Prepare monthly and other reports in conjunction with the resto of the site monitoring team.

Must be willing to work long hours and weekends when necessary to support launch and critical project timelines.

May represent the project during quality assurance audits conducted by the consultants and regulatory agencies.

Identifies quality problems, initiates documented action and verifies implementation of solutions.

Key Requirements

• Candidate must posses at least a Degree / Diploma in M&E Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of M&E working experience in building construction.
• Capability to co-ordinate M&E works effectively with Sub-Contractors, Consultant and Client.
• Have the ability to manage and resolve on-site technical issues.
• Must have initiative and able to work independently.
• Competent in writing and communicating in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
