Job summary

Liancon Sdn Bhd, a building and interior fit-out contractor based in Johor Bahru, seeks an M&E Coordinator to manage M&E works on project sites across Johor and coordinate between consultants, main contractors, and subcontractors.

The role requires a Diploma or Degree in MEP/Building Services and at least 2 years of site coordination experience, with strong AutoCAD, Excel and Word skills. Willingness to be based full-time on-site and travel between sites is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in M&E site coordination for building projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise all M&E works on site with the consultants, main contractor and subcontractors.
• Prepare and submit the daily site diary after 5.00 pm each working day.
• Prepare the material and catalogue submission list for each trade and follow up until approved.
• Prepare and submit drawings/templates and collect shop drawings/as-built drawings for approval.
• Prepare and submit method statements, inspection requests and testing records; track responses.
• Witness and record testing and commissioning with the relevant parties.
• Coordinate submissions with BOMBA, Suruhanjaya Tenaga and JKKP through the consultant or main contractor.
• Maintain submission and drawing registers; update the project group after each submission.
• On completion, compile handover documents including as-built drawings, O&M manuals and warranties.

Job description

Liancon Sdn Bhd is a building and interior fit-out contractor based in Johor Bahru. We are hiring an M&E Coordinator to coordinate the mechanical and electrical works on our project sites in Johor between the consultant, the main contractor and our M&E subcontractors, and to manage the submission, drawing and close-out documentation for each project. The successful candidate may be assigned to any of our project sites as required.

Key responsibilities

Coordinate and supervise all M&E works on site with the consultants, main contractor and subcontractors to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and the project programme.

Prepare and submit the daily site diary to the project group after 5.00 pm each working day.

Prepare the material and catalogue submission list for each trade at the start of each project, obtain submissions from subcontractors, check them and submit to the consultant under the Company's transmittal, and follow up until approved before material is ordered or installed.

Prepare the Company's drawing template and title block, issue base drawings to subcontractors, collect and check shop drawings and as-built drawings, and submit to the consultant until approved.

Prepare and submit method statements, inspection request forms, RFIs and testing and commissioning records, and track consultant responses.

Witness and record testing and commissioning with the consultant, main contractor and subcontractors.

Prepare and coordinate applications and inspections with BOMBA, Suruhanjaya Tenaga and JKKP through the consultant or main contractor.

Keep the submission register and drawing register current and update the project group after each submission and consultant response.

On project completion, compile as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, T&C reports and authority certificates for handover, and track the defects list until accepted by the consultant and client.

Keep photographic records of concealed M&E installations before closing up.

About you

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 2 years of experience in M&E site coordination for building projects.

Able to read and coordinate M&E drawings for ACMV, electrical, ELV, fire protection, plumbing and medical gas services.

Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and Word.

Able to prepare material submissions, shop drawings, method statements, inspection requests and T&C records in a tidy and organised manner.

Able to be based full-time at project sites in Johor and willing to be reassigned between sites. Own transport required.

Good communication in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Experience in hospital, healthcare or commercial fit-out projects (preferred).

Experience dealing with BOMBA, Suruhanjaya Tenaga and JKKP submissions and inspections (preferred).

Valid CIDB Green Card (preferred).
