We are seeking a motivated and technically competent M&E Engineer to join our engineering consultancy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, supervision, and technical delivery of mechanical and electrical building services for various projects.
The role involves working closely with clients, architects, contractors, authorities, and other consultants to ensure that M&E systems are designed and implemented in accordance with project requirements, relevant standards, and statutory regulations.
Prepare and review mechanical and electrical engineering designs for building projects.
Develop M&E layouts, schematics, calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
Design and coordinate systems such as:
Mechanical ventilation and air-conditioning (ACMV)
Electrical power distribution and lighting
Fire protection systems
Plumbing and sanitary systems
ELV systems
Lift and escalator systems
Building management and control systems
Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, load calculations, and system analysis.
Coordinate M&E designs with architectural, structural, civil, and other engineering disciplines.
Prepare drawings, tender documentation, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
Attend project meetings and coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities.
Conduct site inspections and monitor M&E installation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
Review shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, technical submissions, and contractor proposals.
Identify technical issues and provide practical engineering solutions.
Assist in testing, commissioning, inspection, and handover of M&E systems.
Monitor project progress and assist in ensuring works are delivered within the required quality, cost, and programme requirements.
Ensure designs and site works comply with applicable codes, regulations, and authority requirements.
Prepare technical reports, progress reports, inspection reports, and other project documentation.
Support senior engineers and project managers in the successful delivery of projects.
Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
Preferably 2–5 years of relevant experience in an M&E consultancy, engineering consultancy, contractor, or construction environment.
Good knowledge of building mechanical and electrical systems.
Familiarity with relevant local codes, standards, and authority requirements.
Experience in preparing engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP, BIM, or other engineering design software will be an advantage.
Good analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
Able to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Able to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Willingness to attend project sites and undertake site inspections when required.
