Job summary

Econpile (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking an M&E Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and monitor all M&E works on site from installation through testing and commissioning. • Ensure M&E materials, equipment and installations comply with submissions and specs.

• Support QESH procedures and report non-conforming work and environmental concerns.
• Maintain accurate records and update as-built drawings and handover documents.
• Coordinate delivery, storage and availability of M&E materials and equipment, monitor workmanship.

Job description

The M&E Coordinator plans, coordinates, and monitors mechanical and electrical (M&E) works at the project site, from installation through inspection, testing, and commissioning. Reporting to the Project Manager / Assistant Project Manager, you will make sure all M&E works follow approved drawings, specifications, and the project program. You will work closely with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams, keep accurate project records, and help uphold the Company's Quality, Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health (QESH) standards.

Key responsibilities

Coordinate and monitor the planning, installation, inspection, testing and commissioning of M&E systems, including electrical and plumbing works.

Review M&E drawings, specifications and technical documents; identify discrepancies or interface clashes and coordinate their resolution with the Project Manager, consultants and other disciplines.

Prepare or coordinate M&E coordination and shop drawings, and ensure only the latest approved revisions are used on site.

Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to plan work sequences and minimize clashes, rework and disruption.

Track M&E progress against the project program, report delays or constraints, and follow up on corrective actions.

Check that M&E materials, equipment and installations comply with approved submissions, drawings and specifications.

Coordinate site inspections, testing and commissioning, and ensure inspection requests, test results and approvals are properly documented.

Support the project Quality Plan, method statements and QESH procedures; promptly report non-conforming work, unsafe conditions and environmental concerns.

Maintain accurate records of M&E works, submissions, drawings, design changes and test results; prepare and update as-built drawings and handover documents.

Coordinate delivery, storage and availability of M&E materials and equipment, monitor subcontractor workmanship, and support handover and defects rectification.

About you

Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related M&E discipline.

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in M&E works for construction or infrastructure projects.

Practical experience supervising mechanical and electrical installation works on site.

Able to read and coordinate M&E drawings, including single-line electrical drawings.

Awareness of occupational safety and health, environmental and quality requirements.

Good interpersonal, coordination and communication skills.

Computer literate and able to maintain organized project records.

Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Proactive, responsible, punctual, organized and detail-oriented, with a willingness to learn and work well in a team.
