Job summary

Hipower Metal & Stainless Steel Works in Bayan Lepas, Penang, is hiring a full-time Lorry Driver with a GDL license to transport goods across assigned routes, maintaining safety and punctual deliveries.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, log mileage and fuel, load and secure cargo, and liaise with dispatch to handle route changes. Candidates should have at least 2 years of professional driving, a clean record, and the ability to work independently with a focus on safety.

About the role

Hipower Metal & Stainless Steel Works is seeking a skilled Lorry Driver with GDL license to join our transport and logistics team. This is a full-time position based in Bayan Lepas, Penang. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods, materials and products across assigned routes, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining the highest standards of vehicle maintenance and safety. This position is critical to our operations, enabling us to fulfil customer commitments and maintain our reputation for reliable service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and drive heavy goods vehicles safely and efficiently across assigned routes and territories
• Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in accordance with delivery schedules
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify maintenance issues and report them promptly
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, delivery times and any incidents or damages
• Comply with all traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies whilst driving
• Load and secure cargo safely, ensuring loads are properly distributed and within limits
• Communicate with dispatch and management regarding route changes, delays or any operational issues
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle interior and exterior
• Assist with basic cargo handling and unloading at delivery points when required

What we’re looking for

• Valid Group Defined Licence (GDL) or equivalent HGV/LGV licence with good standing
• Minimum 2 years of professional lorry driving experience
