Job summary

Hotayi Electronic is seeking a LMW & Customs Compliance Specialist in Penang, Malaysia. You will manage all LMW operations and ensure compliance with Royal Malaysian Customs, LMW regulations, and internal controls across production, logistics, and procurement teams.

The role requires strong hands-on experience in LMW, licensing renewals, and reporting. You will collaborate with customs authorities and auditors to maintain smooth trade operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • 4–7 years of relevant working experience in LMW, Customs, logistics, or trade compliance.
  • Hands-on experience in LMW operations and dealing with Royal Malaysian Customs.
  • Familiar with LMW licence renewal, Direct User approval, subcontractor approval, Customs reporting, and material reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of import/export procedures and shipping documentation is preferred.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage compliance matters with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all LMW operations and Customs compliance matters.
  • Ensure compliance with Royal Malaysian Customs requirements, LMW regulations, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Prepare and submit LMW reports, subcontractor reports, reconciliation reports, and other Customs-related reports.
  • Handle LMW licence renewal, Direct User approval, subcontractor approval, and other Customs applications.
  • Liaise with Royal Malaysian Customs, forwarding agents, and relevant authorities on LMW and compliance matters.
  • Monitor import/export transactions, material movements, inventory records, and supporting documents to ensure proper LMW control.
  • Work closely with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, Finance, and Shipping teams to ensure operations comply with LMW requirements.
  • Support Customs audits, stock audits, ISO audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Review and improve LMW procedures, documentation, and internal controls.
  • Support logistics and import/export operations where required.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4–7 years of relevant working experience in LMW, Customs, logistics, or trade compliance.
  • Strong hands-on experience in LMW operations and dealing with Royal Malaysian Customs.
  • Familiar with LMW licence renewal, Direct User approval, subcontractor approval, Customs reporting, and material reconciliation.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing operations, material flow, warehouse, inventory, and production processes is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of import/export procedures and shipping documentation is preferred.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage compliance matters with minimal supervision.
