Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Customs Affairs Executive to oversee LMW customs compliance, import/export operations, and trade regulations. You will manage documentation, liaise with government authorities, and ensure adherence to compliance processes to support efficient logistics operations.

The role requires coordinating with multiple departments to optimize workflows, monitor regulatory changes, and drive continuous improvement in customs performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, Business Admin or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in customs affairs, import/export operations, or international trade.
• Strong knowledge of HS Code, tariff classification and trade regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage import and export customs clearance activities.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies.
• Liaise with Customs Department, government agencies, freight forwarders, and logistics providers.
• Prepare, review, and approve customs declarations and shipping documentation.
• Monitor changes in regulations and implement compliance measures.
• Prepare customs reports and KPIs.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics, Purchasing, Warehouse and Finance to improve efficiency.

Job Summary

The Customs Affairs (or Logistic) Executive is responsible for handling LMW customs compliance, import and export operations, and trade regulations to ensure smooth customs clearance while complying with local and international customs laws. This role manages customs documentation, liaises with government authorities, and ensure comply to LMW compliance process to support efficient logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage import and export customs clearance activities.


• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, and company policies.


• Liaise with Customs Department, government agencies, freight forwarders, and logistics providers.


• Prepare, review, and approve customs declarations and shipping documentation.


• Monitor HS code classification, customs valuation, and duty/tax payments.


• Handle customs audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries.


• Resolve customs clearance issues and shipment delays.


• Ensure timely application and renewal of customs permits, licenses, and certifications.


• Monitor changes in customs regulations and implement necessary compliance measures.


• Prepare customs reports, KPIs, and management updates.


• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Finance departments to improve operational efficiency.


• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize customs processes and reduce clearance lead time.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or related field.


• Minimum 3 years of experience in customs affairs, import/export operations, or international trade.


• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, tariff classification (HS Code), import/export documentation, and free trade agreements.


• Experience dealing with Customs Department, MITI, MIDA, and other regulatory authorities.


• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and customs declaration systems is an advantage.


• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.


• Strong leadership and team management abilities.


• Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Customs Professional or equivalent certification is an advantage.


• Experience in the manufacturing or electronics industry is preferred.


• Knowledge of bonded warehouse operations, Free Industrial Zone (FIZ), or Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) regulations is an added advantage.
