LB Advanced Material Asia Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia seeks an experienced Logistics Specialist to manage import/export customs declarations, clearance and end-to-end shipments for our chemical manufacturing operation.
You will coordinate sea, air and road freight, liaise with customs and freight forwarders, and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting procurement tasks during the interim. Proficiency in ERP and Excel, English and Bahasa Malaysia is required; Mandarin is a plus.
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Specialist to independently manage import and export customs declaration and clearance, customs liaison, and domestic and international transportation for our chemical manufacturing operation. During the interim period, the role will also support selected day-to-day procurement activities as required.
ROLE PRIORITY | Logistics, customs and transportation are the core responsibilities. Procurement support is temporary and ad hoc.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end import and export shipments, including customs declaration, clearance, delivery coordination and shipment tracking.
Prepare, review and maintain commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading/air waybills, certificates of origin, permits and customs documents.
Liaise with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, ports, transporters, warehouses and relevant authorities.
Ensure accurate HS code classification, customs valuation, duties/taxes, exemptions and regulatory compliance; maintain audit-ready records and support LMW reporting, reconciliation and audits where applicable.
Coordinate sea, air and road freight, bookings, delivery schedules, quotations and landed-cost analysis, and resolve delays, discrepancies, demurrage/detention and cargo claims.
Coordinate closely with Production, Planning, Warehouse, Finance, Sales and other internal stakeholders to support material and product movements.
During the interim period, assist with ad-hoc daily procurement tasks such as requesting quotations, preparing purchase orders, supplier follow-up and delivery expediting.
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration or a related field. Candidates with less formal qualifications may also be considered if they have strong relevant experience.
At least 3–5 years of relevant import/export, customs clearance, shipping or logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong hands-on knowledge of Malaysian customs declaration and clearance procedures, shipping documentation, HS codes, Incoterms® 2020 and freight coordination.
Practical LMW knowledge, including documentation, reconciliation, reporting or audit support, is highly preferred.
Experience in chemical, process, mineral, pigment, petrochemical or heavy manufacturing is preferred; titanium dioxide experience is an advantage.
Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel; detail-oriented, able to work independently and manage multiple deadlines. Good English and Bahasa Malaysia are required; Mandarin is an advantage for overseas coordination.
