Job summary

Analytx Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced L2 Network Support Engineer to manage and support a large Cisco-based enterprise network across projects. You will monitor over 200 devices including switches, WLCs, APs, and edge firewalls, ensuring performance and uptime.

The role requires CCNA certification, hands-on experience with Cisco infrastructure, and strong English/Bahasa Malaysia communication to coordinate with vendors and internal teams during deployments and ongoing maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Active CCNA certification is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco enterprise networks, WLCs/APs and routing/switching.
  • Strong ability to monitor and troubleshoot network issues within SLAs and timelines.
  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia for coordination with vendors and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Daily Operations: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco enterprise switches and WLC/Access Points.
  • NMS Monitoring: Use Cisco NMS (Catalyst Center) to monitor health, wireless performance, and traffic trends.
  • Traffic & Security: Monitor service pools, node status on F5 Load Balancer and edge firewalls.
  • Changes & Maintenance: Execute VLANs, switchport configs, SSID deployments, and firmware upgrades.
  • Vendor & Incident Management: Liaise with Cisco TAC and hardware vendors; log tickets and manage RMA processes.
  • Documentation: Maintain topology diagrams, IP addressing, inventory, and SOPs.

Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive L2 Network Support Engineer to manage, maintain, and support a newly deployed enterprise network infrastructure throughout projects lifecycle. This role is responsible for ensuring the operational stability and optimal performance of over 200 network devices, including Cisco core switches, access switches, wireless access points, and edge traffic management systems. The ideal candidate must hold an active Cisco CCNA certification, not only possess a strong foundational understanding network setup but also hands-on managing Cisco focused network architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily Operations: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco enterprise switches and wireless LAN Controllers (WLC) / Access Points.
  • Network Management System (NMS): Utilize the Cisco NMS platform (Catalyst Center) daily to monitor network health, track wireless client performance, and analyze traffic trends.
  • Traffic & Security Support: Manage and monitor service pools, node status on the F5 Load Balancer and edge firewalls.
  • Changes & Maintenance: Execute standard network changes such as VLAN assignments, switchport configurations, SSID deployments, and coordinate scheduled firmware upgrades.
  • Vendor & Incident Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for Cisco TAC and hardware vendors; log tickets, extract diagnostic logs, and manage the hardware replacement (RMA) process.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate network topology diagrams, IP addressing schemes, inventory tracking, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout the contract period.
Technical Requirements & Qualifications
  • Certification: Active Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is mandatory. Additional certifications like CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE, or F5 101/201 are highly valued.
  • Routing & Switching: Solid hands-on understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP networking, VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), and basic routing protocols (OSPF / Static Routing). Experience on managing F5 load balancer is preferred.
  • Wireless Networking: Experience managing enterprise Wi-Fi setups, captive portals, guest authentication methods, and wireless signal/interference troubleshooting.
  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to isolate network faults and troubleshoot connectivity issues efficiently under business-hour SLAs.
  • Language: Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia to coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders and external technology vendors.
