Job summary

Stampede Solution is seeking an L2 IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur. This full-time role bridges front-line support with senior infrastructure teams to maintain and enhance our IT systems across multiple platforms.

You will provide second-level support, monitor performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and help design infrastructure improvements while documenting configurations and collaborating with vendors.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of IT infrastructure support or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V).
• Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).
• Experience with storage, backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Experience with ITSM tools and ticketing systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical teams.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+/Network+/Microsoft are advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

About the role

Stampede Solution is seeking an L2 IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to take on a more strategic role in supporting and managing our critical IT infrastructure systems. As an L2 IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will bridge the gap between front-line support and senior infrastructure teams, providing technical expertise, troubleshooting complex issues, and contributing to the stability and performance of our organisation's technology systems. This role is essential to ensuring our infrastructure operates efficiently and securely across multiple platforms and environments.

Key responsibilities

Provide second-level technical support for IT infrastructure issues, including servers, networking equipment, storage systems and virtualisation platforms

Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure systems to ensure optimal performance, availability and security

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues escalated from first-line support teams

Perform system upgrades, patches and maintenance activities with minimal downtime

Configure, deploy and manage servers, network devices and infrastructure components

Assist in the design and implementation of IT infrastructure solutions and improvements

Document infrastructure configurations, procedures and resolutions for knowledge management

What we're looking for

3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure support, systems administration or a similar role

Strong knowledge of server operating systems, including Windows Server and/or Linux

Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V or similar platforms

Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and firewalls

Familiarity with storage systems, backup solutions and disaster recovery procedures

Experience with IT service management tools and ticketing systems

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Strong communication abilities to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams

Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified or equivalent are advantageous

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Willingness to learn new technologies and support continuous professional development
