Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, CS or related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of systems engineering experience.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN, VPN.
• Windows Server administration (AD, IIS, services).
• Linux/Unix administration (Ubuntu, RHEL).
• Java: read code, interpret traces, collaborate with devs (2nd line).
• Kubernetes: deployment, troubleshooting, basic cluster admin.
• Proficiency with modelling tools and simulation software.
• Experience with requirements management and change control processes.
• Understanding of software/hardware integration concepts.

Responsibilities

About the role
We are seeking a talented System Engineer to join our engineering team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex system solutions for our clients. As a System Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our technical operations, ensuring that our systems are robust, scalable, and meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. Key responsibilities

Own L1 and L2 support cases end-to-end — from initial triage through root cause identification and resolution

Conduct system analysis and feasibility studies to identify optimal technical approaches and potential challenges

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software developers, hardware specialists, and project managers to ensure seamless system integration

Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including specifications, design documents, and technical manuals

Oversee the implementation and deployment of system solutions, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project timelines

Perform system testing, validation, and verification to ensure all components function correctly and efficiently

Perform software installations, upgrades, and configuration changes at client sites

Execute change activities according to runbooks and verify outcomes against acceptance criteria

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for deployed systems, identifying and resolving issues promptly

Conduct performance monitoring and optimization to enhance system efficiency and reliability

Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements and innovations

Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Maintain and administer internal infrastructure including Windows and Linux servers, virtualization, VPN, and CI/CD pipelines

Support day-to-day operational tasks: backups, patching, monitoring, and access management

Contribute to infrastructure documentation and knowledge base upkeep

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline

Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in systems engineering or a closely related field

Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN, firewall rules, VPN

Windows Server administration (Active Directory, IIS, Windows services)

Linux/Unix administration (Ubuntu, RHEL or equivalent)

Java: able to read and understand application code, interpret stack traces, and work with developers to isolate defects (L2 code-reading proficiency; development experience is a plus)

Kubernetes: deployment, troubleshooting, basic cluster administration

Proficiency with systems modelling tools and simulation software

Demonstrated experience with requirements management and change control processes

Solid understanding of software and hardware integration concepts

Experience with project management tools and collaborative development environments

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively within diverse teams

Experience with cloud platforms, IoT systems, or enterprise solutions would be beneficial
