Job summary

Ziantech Solutions Sdn. Bhd. in Kuala Lumpur seeks an Infrastructure Engineer to perform annual maintenance on ~280 servers, manage SAN storage and related devices, and diagnose issues within SLA windows.

You will guide field techs and helpdesks, with possible assignments to overseas offices across Asia, the Middle East, UK, Australia, and the US. The role requires a Diploma in IT or related, 3+ years in SAN/storage in production, and vendor certifications for servers/storage/UPS.

Qualifications

• Malaysian citizen with a valid passport for at least 2 years.
• Diploma or Diploma in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics, IT, or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in SAN shelf and store service in the production environment.
• At least one vendor certification that is still valid for server, storage, or UPS.
• Able to work outside of office hours for maintenance windows and on-call duty.
• No criminal record, drug-free, able to undergo background check, and sign an NDA.
• Experience with Lenovo ThinkSystem (SR650, SR550), System x3650/x3550 M5, HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9/Gen10, and Dell PowerEdge R740.
• Experience with Lenovo ThinkSystem DS-series storage and SAN Fibre Channel.
• Experience with Barracuda ADC or other load balancers.
• Experience with online UPS and VRLA battery.
• Willingness to travel overseas.

Responsibilities

• Carry out annual preventive maintenance for servers, including health checks and firmware updates.
• Organize SAN storage, SAN switch, load balancer, and critical UPS, with backup configuration and recovery plan.
• Diagnose and repair issues during SLA period and liaise with vendor support.
• Carry out UPS tests: battery voltage, discharge test, and bypass mode test.
• Serve as a Phase 2 technical reference for field technicians and assistance desks.
• May serve in overseas offices if necessary (Asia, Middle East, UK, Australia, US).

This role involves carrying out annual preventive maintenance for approximately 280 servers, organizing SAN storage, SAN switch, load balancer, and critical UPS infrastructure, and diagnosing and repairing issues during the SLA period. You will serve as a Phase 2 technical reference for field technicians and assistance desks, and may be required to serve in overseas offices if necessary (Asia, South Asia, Middle East, UK, Australia, United States).

Key responsibilities

Carry out annual preventive maintenance for approximately 280 servers: system health check, firmware update, RAID check, and failover

Organize SAN storage, SAN switch, load balancer, and critical UPS, including backup configuration and recovery plan before each work is executed

Diagnose and repair issues during the SLA period, as well as liaising with the producer's support

Carry out UPS test: battery voltage, discharge test, and bypass mode test

Serve as a Phase 2 technical reference for field technicians and assistance desks

Serve in overseas offices if necessary (Asia, South Asia, Middle East, UK, Australia, United States)

About you
