Job summary

Cezars Kitchen in Batu Berendam, Melaka is seeking a qualified Kitchen Manager to join our kitchen. You will serve as the Director of Quality, ensuring the highest quality of food production that will wow guests and keep them coming back for more.

The ideal candidate will oversee kitchen production, supervise staff, manage purchasing and costs, and ensure safety and cleanliness while delivering exceptional dining experiences for students, faculty, staff and parents.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage kitchen operations and maintain high standards of food safety.
• Experience in coordinating large-volume cooking and catering operations.
• Strong leadership and staff management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee kitchen production for daily meals and catering.
• Cook a wide range of foods in large batch quantities (International Asian & Western).
• Lead the staff to work efficiently, cleanly, organized and professional.
• Train staff to ensure proper food handling and service procedures.
• Manage purchasing and vendor compliance for food and supplies.
• Monitor food costs and inventory to minimize waste.
• Hire staff, conduct annual reviews, and manage labor costs.
• Communicate effectively with clients, respond to emails within 24 hours.
• Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety standards.
• Be self-motivated and able to work with the team with minimal supervision.
• Cook for and cater to students, faculty, staff and parents.
• Cook from scratch with love and passion for food.

Essential Functions: Individuals who meet the following expectations will be contacted for an interview:

• Responsible for all Kitchen Production; including daily meals services and catering.
• Ability to cook a wide range of foods in large batch quantities: International Asian & Western cooking.
• Lead the Atmosphere: Insure the staff are working efficiently, cleanly, organized and professional.
• Training: In charge of all staff training, to insure proper procedures for handling food and serving customers.
• Purchasing: Manage all food and supply orders following approved vendor list and purchasing policy.
• Food Costs: Monitor kitchen to ensure proper use of product and inventory control while keeping waste to a minimum.
• Labor management: Hire staff, complete annual reviews, promote low-turnover and keep labor under 30%
• Communication: Must be proficient in English, computer literate and respond to all emails within 24 business hours.
• Safety & Security: Maintain a safe work environment for all staff and guests.
• Self-motivated and can work with the team and without direct supervision.
• Enjoy working around children: You're cooking for and catering to students, faculty, staff and parents
