Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a motivated kitchen helper to assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and support the cooking team during service in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

You should have kitchen experience, strong hygiene knowledge, the stamina to stand long hours, and reliable, punctual work habits. Certification in food handling is preferred. This role offers opportunities to learn, a collaborative team, and adherence to health and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assisting kitchen staff with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping and portioning ingredients.
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils and cooking equipment.
• Organising and storing food items correctly to ensure proper inventory management and food safety compliance.
• Supporting the cooking process by preparing ingredients and assembling components as directed by senior kitchen staff.
• Disposing of waste materials and recyclables in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Restocking kitchen supplies and ingredients as needed throughout service periods.
• Following all food safety and hygiene protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assisting with general kitchen maintenance and equipment care.
• Working efficiently under pressure during busy service times.
