Job summary

TRIO S KITCHEN SDN BHD in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Kitchen Commis to support daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cleanliness, and ensuring ingredients and workstations are ready for service.

The role requires teamwork, ability to follow instructions, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and public holidays. English and/or Bahasa Malaysia communication is accepted; valid food handling certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in restaurant or hospitality operations.
• Good teamwork and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Well-groomed, professional, and service-oriented.
• Able to communicate in English and/or Bahasa Malaysia.
• Valid typhoid vaccination and food handling certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, portioning, and storing food in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assist in food preparation and cooking according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Ensure all items are prepped and ready before service.
• Replenish service lines and restock workstations as needed.
• Prepare and organize workstations for the next shift.
• Monitor inventory and stock levels and inform supervisors when supplies are low.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen work areas.
• Wash and sanitize kitchen surfaces, utensils, knives, and equipment.
• Clean floors, walls, and cooking stations regularly.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
