Responsibilities

• Assist with daily food preparation and mise en place according to kitchen requirements.
• Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meat, seafood, sauces and other components according to recipes and SOPs.
• Assist with cooking and food preparation at assigned kitchen stations.
• Follow recipes, portion sizes and food presentation standards consistently.
• Ensure food is prepared and served according to Soulyard's quality standards.
• Assist the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure orders are completed efficiently.
• Keep workstations clean, organised and properly stocked throughout the shift.
• Follow proper food handling, hygiene and food safety procedures at all times.

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic Kitchen Crew member to join our team at Soulyard Cafe.

You will work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure food is prepared properly, orders are served efficiently, and the kitchen remains clean, organised and running smoothly throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily food preparation and mise en place according to kitchen requirements.
• Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meat, seafood, sauces and other components according to recipes and SOPs.
• Assist with cooking and food preparation at assigned kitchen stations.
• Follow recipes, portion sizes and food presentation standards consistently.
• Ensure food is prepared and served according to Soulyard's quality standards.
• Assist the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure orders are completed efficiently.
• Keep workstations clean, organised and properly stocked throughout the shift.
• Follow proper food handling, hygiene and food safety procedures at all times.
• Assist with receiving, storing and organising ingredients and kitchen supplies.
• Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
• Assist with stock counting and inform the senior kitchen team when ingredients are running low.
• Minimise food wastage by following proper preparation and portion-control procedures.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, workstations and storage areas.
• Ensure dishes, utensils and cooking equipment are properly cleaned and sanitised.
• Follow all kitchen SOPs, safety procedures and instructions from the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
• Communicate effectively with other kitchen team members and FOH staff during service.
• Support other kitchen stations when required.
• Maintain a positive, respectful and cooperative working environment.
• Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned by the Head Chef or management.
