Job summary

KCJ ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. is seeking a detail-oriented procurement assistant in Shah Alam to support day-to-day purchasing for company and projects.

You will handle RFQs, supplier sourcing, quotations, and ordering processes, coordinating with project, engineering, site and finance teams. You will maintain supplier records, monitor delivery performance, negotiate terms where appropriate, and assist in cost comparisons and procurement reports.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in procurement, supply chain or related field.
• Fresh graduates or 1–2 years in procurement encouraged.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in construction or project procurement is an advantage.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Well-organised with attention to detail and able to manage deadlines.

Job description

Assist in managing day-to-day procurement activities for company and project requirements.

Prepare and issue Request for Quotation (RFQ) to suppliers and subcontractors.

Source and identify suitable suppliers based on price, quality, availability and project requirements.

Obtain, compare and evaluate quotations to ensure competitive pricing and suitable terms.

Prepare Purchase Orders (PO), purchase requisitions and other procurement-related documents.

Follow up with suppliers on pricing, delivery schedules, order status and outstanding items.

Coordinate with project, engineering, site and finance teams to ensure procurement requirements are fulfilled on time.

Maintain proper records of suppliers, quotations, purchase orders, delivery orders and procurement documents.

Assist in negotiating prices, payment terms and delivery arrangements with suppliers.

Monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery and compliance with agreed requirements.

Assist in resolving procurement issues such as delayed deliveries, incorrect items or discrepancies.

Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures, project requirements and approved budgets.

Support the preparation of procurement reports and cost comparisons for management review.

Perform other procurement-related duties assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Diploma / Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics or a related field.

Fresh graduates or candidates with 1–2 years of relevant procurement experience are encouraged to apply.

Basic knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing, quotation evaluation and purchase orders.

Experience in construction, engineering, building maintenance or project procurement is an advantage.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Good negotiation, communication and coordination skills.

Strong attention to detail and good numerical and analytical skills.

Well-organised, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks within deadlines.

Able to communicate effectively with suppliers, subcontractors and internal departments.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Willing to learn and adapt to procurement requirements in a project-based environment.
