Job summary

Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur is seeking a dedicated culinary professional to support our Food & Beverage operations. You will prepare meals, ensure quality, and assist with daily kitchen tasks to meet high standards of presentation and service.

Responsibilities include maintaining recipes, monitoring equipment temperatures, and supporting management in staffing and training. A technical or vocational degree and at least 3 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
• Related Work Experience: At least 3 years of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items according to recipes and standards.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters to ensure quality and safety.
• Pull food from freezer and thaw in refrigerator as needed for daily service.
• Maintain food logs and monitor quality and quantity of prepared items.
• Communicate needs during busy periods and inform Chef of excess items for specials.
• Inform service staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items; ensure garnishes and presentation quality.
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling and coaching staff.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies; report maintenance and safety concerns.
• Ensure personal appearance is clean and professional; protect company assets.
