Job summary

Kaley Sdn Bhd in Bandar Puteri Puchong is seeking a Junior Interior Designer to translate concepts into beautiful spaces across residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design or related discipline.
• 1–2 years of interior design experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of SketchUp.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator).
• Understand interior materials, detailing, and basic construction methods.
• Able to read and understand technical drawings.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Willing to attend site visits and travel as required.
• Portfolio showcasing relevant interior design projects.

Responsibilities

• Design & documentation: develop concepts, mood boards, layouts, and space planning.

• Develop millwork drawings and interior detailing where required.
• Research and source materials, finishes, FF&E, and coordinate selections.

• Support project scheduling, budgeting, and progress tracking.

About the Role

Are you an aspiring Interior Designer who loves turning ideas into beautiful, functional spaces?

At Kaley Sdn Bhd, we're looking for a Junior Interior Designer to join our growing team and work across residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.

This role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years of experience who wants to strengthen their design, technical, and project coordination skills while gaining hands‑on exposure from concept development all the way to site implementation.

You'll work closely with Senior Designers, clients, contractors, and suppliers — giving you the opportunity to see your designs come to life.

What You'll Do

Design & Documentation

Develop conceptual designs, mood boards, layouts, and space planning based on project requirements.

Prepare 2D drawings, 3D visualisations, elevations, construction drawings, and detailed drawings.

Assist in preparing presentations, material boards, and design proposals for clients.

Develop millwork, carpentry, and other interior detailing drawings where required.

Research and source suitable materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).

Coordinate material selections according to design intent, quality, availability, and project budget.

Liaise with suppliers and follow up on material samples, quotations, and specifications.

Site & Project Coordination

Attend site visits, measurements, inspections, and project meetings.

Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and project teams to support design implementation.

Review shop drawings, samples, and site conditions to ensure alignment with approved designs.

Provide design clarification and support during project execution.

Project Support

Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and progress tracking.

Support Senior Designers in managing projects from concept to completion.

Take ownership of assigned tasks and smaller project phases with guidance when required.

Manage multiple deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail.

What We're Looking For

Must-Have

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related discipline.

• 1–2 years of relevant interior design experience.

• Proficient in AutoCAD.

• Working knowledge of SketchUp.

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite such as Photoshop and Illustrator.

• Understanding of interior materials, detailing, and basic construction methods.

• Able to read and understand technical drawings.

• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

• Willing to attend site visits and project‑related travel when required.

• Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the project team.

• Portfolio showcasing relevant interior design projects.

Good to Have

• Experience in residential, commercial, or hospitality projects.

• Previous site experience or exposure to renovation / construction projects.

• Experience preparing construction and detailed drawings.

• Knowledge of carpentry, joinery, M&E coordination, and interior finishing works.

• Familiarity with project costing, material sourcing, or quotation preparation.

• Experience coordinating with contractors and suppliers.

Working Details

• Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Sat 9.00 AM – 1:00 PM

• Location: Kuala Lumpur / Klang Valley

• Site Visits: Required depending on project needs

• Project Travel: Occasional travel may be required

• Travel / Site Allowance: Applicable based on company policy
