Job summary

GT-MAX PLASTIC INDUSTRIES (M) SDN BHD is seeking a Quantity Surveying professional to support contract administration, valuation, and tender processes. The role requires coordination with clients, consultants, and subcontractors, plus strong communication and analytical skills, in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

You will assist in preparation of progress claims, final accounts, and ensure accurate documentation while collaborating with project teams across pre- and post-contract stages.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in QS/construction related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience; fresh graduates encouraged.
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English; Mandarin an advantage.
• Ability to communicate with clients, consultants, and site teams.
• Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in contract administration tasks including valuation and measurement.
• Prepare and review contract documents.
• Assist in tender processes, including supplier quotations.
• Coordinate with departments on material pricing and terms.
• Prepare progress claims and final account documentation.
• Site visits for valuation and measurement.
• Liaise on EOT, VO, and site condition changes.
• Coordinate with contractors and site personnel.
• Assist in preparing contract documentation.

Job description

Assist in contract administration tasks including valuation, measurement, and quantity taking-off during both pre-contract and post-contract stages.

Prepare and review contract documents and related documentation.

Assist in tender processes, including preparation of tender documents and sourcing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

Coordinate with relevant departments to obtain clarifications on material pricing and commercial terms.

Prepare progress claims, subcontractor payment certifications, and final account documentation.

Monitor and manage material usage and project requirements.

Source and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and ensure competitive pricing.

Conduct site visits for valuation and measurement purposes.

Liaise with project personnel regarding matters related to Extension of Time (EOT), Variation Orders (VO), and changes in site conditions.

Coordinate with contractors and site personnel to ensure smooth project execution.

Assist in the preparation and management of contract documentation.

Perform any other tasks assigned by the superior or Head of Department (HOD) as needed.

Job Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building Management or any related field.

Minimum 1 year of working experiences in related field; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Strong command of Bahasa Malaysia and English; proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.

Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, construction team, and sub-contractors.

Possess strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Required language: English, Bahasa Malaysia and prefer mandarin speaker as need to liaise with the China client.
