Job summary

Press Metal Bintulu Sdn. Bhd. seeks an experienced IT Manager to lead our IT infrastructure, networks, and security.

You will ensure reliability, performance, and continuous improvement while aligning technology with business needs in a large-scale industrial setting. The role requires strong leadership, hands-on expertise in Windows Server, VMware, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies, plus a track record of managing IT teams and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/technology-related disciplines.
• Minimum 8 years in IT infrastructure, networks, servers, cloud, or systems administration with at least 3 years in a management role.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Windows Server, AD, virtualization, backup/disaster recovery, cybersecurity, and cloud.
• Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft, VMware, ITIL, CISSP/CISM are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor performance, capacity, and reliability of IT infrastructure, networks, and systems.
• Manage and optimize LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPN, routing, switching, and wireless networks.
• Oversee virtualization environments (VMware, HCI) and server administration.

Press Metal Bintulu Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced and driven IT Manager to lead our IT infrastructure and technology operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, performance, and continuous improvement of the company’s IT infrastructure while aligning technology initiatives with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the performance, capacity, availability, and reliability of IT infrastructure, networks, and systems, and implement proactive improvements.
• Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPN, routing, switching, and wireless networks.
• Manage and optimize virtualization and server environments, including VMware and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI).
• Oversee Windows Server and Active Directory administration, including DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Manage backup, restoration, replication, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities to ensure system availability and data protection.
• Plan, implement, and maintain appropriate IT infrastructure and network security measures to protect company data, systems, software, and hardware.
• Implement and enforce infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity standards in accordance with company requirements and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with internal IT policies, audit requirements, security standards, and applicable external regulations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation covering infrastructure configurations, network architecture, system procedures, and IT assets.
• Work closely with cybersecurity teams on vulnerability management, security monitoring, and incident response.
• Act as the escalation point for complex infrastructure, server, network, and cloud-related incidents.
• Support IT audit activities, security compliance reviews, disaster recovery exercises, and business continuity planning.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the IT infrastructure team while promoting knowledge sharing, collaboration, and adherence to IT best practices.
• Work closely with IT management, application teams, cybersecurity teams, and other departments to ensure infrastructure strategies support the company’s operational and business objectives.
• IT Alignment – Ability to align IT infrastructure roadmaps and technology investments with the company’s long-term business objectives.
• Team Leadership – Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, mentor, manage, and develop diverse technical teams.
• Performance Management – Experience in establishing KPIs, monitoring team performance, conducting evaluations, and supporting employees’ career development.
• Stakeholder Management – Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior management, HODs, internal users, and external technology partners.
• Conflict Resolution – Ability to manage technical disagreements, resolve competing priorities, and achieve practical solutions across different business functions.
• Technical Translation – Ability to explain complex technical concepts and risks clearly in business-oriented language to non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem Solving – Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to manage critical IT incidents and provide effective solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or other relevant IT/technology-related disciplines.
• Professional IT certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Microsoft Certified, VMware, ITIL, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, network, server, cloud, or systems administration, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of network infrastructure, Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, backup and disaster recovery, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
• Experience in IT audit, security compliance, vulnerability management, and business continuity planning.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to be based in Bintulu, Sarawak.
