Job summary

Austin Heights Education Sdn Bhd is seeking an IT Executive to support, maintain, and enhance our educational IT systems. You will ensure smooth day-to-day IT operations for staff and students, support teaching technologies, and help provide secure, reliable IT services across the school environment.

The role requires a diploma or degree in IT/CS with 1–3 years in IT support, familiarity with LMS, MS 365, Google Workspace, and basic networking.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 1–3 years IT support or IT operations experience, education sector a plus.
• Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows/Mac), and common software.
• Familiarity with LMS, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and educational platforms.
• Basic understanding of networking (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, routers, switches).
• Awareness of data privacy, cybersecurity, and system security practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; good communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT support to staff and students for hardware, software, network, and system issues.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, projectors, servers, and equipment.
• Support LMS, online platforms, classroom tech, and video conferencing tools.
• Monitor IT systems, networks, backups, and servers for availability and security.
• Manage user accounts, access rights, email, and student/staff IT accounts.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, data protection standards, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Assist in implementing new education technologies and system upgrades.
• Conduct regular updates and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Provide basic IT training and guidance to staff and students.

Job Summary

The IT Executive is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the organization’s IT systems and digital infrastructure within an education environment. This role ensures smooth day-to-day IT operations for academic and administrative staff, supports teaching and learning technologies, and helps maintain secure, reliable, and efficient IT services across the institution.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide IT support to academic staff, administrative staff, and students for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, laptops, projectors, smart boards, printers, servers, and other educational IT equipment.
• Support Learning Management Systems (LMS), online learning platforms, classroom technology, and video conferencing tools.
• Monitor and maintain IT systems, networks, data backups, and servers to ensure availability and security.
• Manage user accounts, access rights, email systems, and student/staff IT accounts.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, data protection standards, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Assist in the implementation of new education technologies, system upgrades, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Conduct regular system updates, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Provide basic IT training and guidance to staff and students when required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant IT support or IT operations experience (experience in education sector is an advantage; fresh graduates may be considered).
• Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows/Mac), and common software applications.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and educational platforms is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of networking (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, routers, switches).
• Awareness of data privacy, cybersecurity, and system security practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
