Jasonfilter Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an Inventory and Costing Specialist to handle daily inventory and costing activities in our manufacturing operations.
You will maintain records for raw materials, WIP, finished goods and packaging, perform reconciliations, and prepare cost analyses including variances. The role collaborates with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing and Finance, supports month-end closing, prepares reports, and helps ensure accurate inventory movement and costing data while
Handle and monitor daily inventory and costing activities for the manufacturing operations. Maintain accurate records of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods and packaging materials. Perform regular inventory reconciliation between physical stock and system records, and investigate any discrepancies or variances. Prepare and maintain product costing, including raw materials, direct labour and manufacturing overheads. Calculate and analyse standard cost, actual cost and production cost variances.
Key responsibilities
Maintain accurate records of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods and packaging materials
Perform regular inventory reconciliation between physical stock and system records, and investigate any discrepancies or variances
Prepare and maintain product costing, including raw materials, direct labour and manufacturing overheads
Calculate and analyse standard cost, actual cost and production cost variances
Review material consumption against production output and investigate significant usage variances
Maintain and update BOM (Bill of Materials), standard costs, material prices and costing information in the system
Prepare monthly inventory, costing, COGS and variance analysis reports for management review
Assist in month-end closing, including inventory valuation, cost of goods sold and relevant costing entries
Work closely with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing and Finance departments to ensure accurate inventory movement and costing records
Participate in monthly / quarterly stock counts and ensure proper reconciliation of physical stock against system balances
About you
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Costing, Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field
2–5 years of relevant experience in inventory, costing, management accounting or manufacturing environment
Good understanding of product costing, standard costing, BOM, inventory valuation and variance analysis
Familiar with raw material, WIP and finished goods inventory control
Experience in stock take and inventory reconciliation
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables and data analysis
Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail
Able to identify discrepancies and investigate the reasons behind inventory and costing variances
Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing and Finance teams
Able to work independently, meet deadlines and handle confidential financial and costing information
