Job summary

Eversafe Extinguisher Sdn Bhd in Subang Jaya is seeking a Cost Accountant to manage the full set of accounts and to develop and maintain the company’s cost accounting systems. You will analyze actual manufacturing costs, prepare variances, and provide cost-saving recommendations.

The role requires a degree in accounting/finance (ACCA/CIMA preferred) and at least 3 years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing. Proficiency in Excel/Word and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in accountancy / Finance / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of Cost Accounting experience in manufacturing environment.
• Strong cost systems background with excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
• Able to communicate effectively to all levels of employees.
• Sharp and alert and careful with accounting figures.
• Able to use Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Handle full set of accounts.
• Check journal voucher for approval.
• Check payment voucher for all types of payments for signature.
• Review data keyed into accounting system by junior staff (e.g. supplier invoices, DN and CN).
• Prepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and schedules for review.
• Monitor petty cash float.
• Maintain fixed assets register and perform fixed assets audit.
• Assist to manage cash flow and payments.
• Assist in stock take (monthly, half yearly, annual).
• Manage and prepare manufacturing cost accounting reports.
• Analyse actual manufacturing costs and prepare variance explanations.
• Develop and maintain the product costing system.
• Record and calculate unit cost for products.
• Analyse changes in product design, raw materials, and manufacturing methods for cost impact.
• Provide management with reports on factors affecting prices and profitability.
• Make recommendations for selling price and cost saving.
• Formulate SOP, policies and Cost Accounting System.
• Handle month end closing of the General Ledger.
• Assist superior on general accounting matters.
• Perform ad-hoc duties as required.

Job description

• Handle full set of accounts - ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of all day-to-day accounting transactions.
• Plan, study and collect data to establish the actual manufacturing cost incurred by incorporating the costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, labour, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Handle full set of accounts.
• Check journal voucher for approval.
• Check payment voucher for all types of payments for signature.
• Review data keyed into accounting system by junior staff. e.g. supplier's invoice, DN and CN.
• Prepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and Balance Sheet schedule for review.

• Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products.
