Job summary

ITW Meritex Sdn Bhd in Penang invites a dynamic engineer to join our team, focusing on understanding the product life cycle and translating engineering practices into efficient tooling and assembly processes.

You will gain hands-on experience with CAD/CAM software from mold design to CNC programming, learn schedule management and documentation standards, and work under senior staff to apply best practices across molding techniques and tool optimization.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in engineering, preferably plastics/Injection Molding.
• Proficient in MS Office; basic VBA Macro is a plus.
• Familiar with CAD, programming languages, and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

Job description

Develop a comprehensive understanding of the product life cycle, including tools and their functions.

Gain familiarity with tooling processes to ensure that engineering practices translate effectively to ease of assembly.

Learn and apply CAD/CAM software skills, from mold design to CNC programming.

Learn about schedule management, reporting, and documentation standards.

Acquire knowledge of seabed-to-surface engineering requirements, software tools, and other technical aspects.

Use appropriate methods, tools, and industry best practices to perform engineering tasks under the supervision of senior staff.

Learn and apply a wide range of molding techniques, including plastic injection molding.

Understand and utilize MRD systems to drive tool and part optimization.

Perform tooling improvement projects to reduce downtime and improve yield quality.

Manage tooling spare parts and mold inventory.

Requirements

Minimum diploma or degree in engineering fields, preferably related to plastics product manufacturing, such as Injection Molding, Mechatronics, or an equivalent relevant field.

Proficient in Microsoft Office; basic knowledge of VBA Macro is a plus.

Proficient in relevant software tools, such as CAD, programming languages, and data analysis tools; knowledge of these is a plus.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude toward tackling new challenges.
