Job summary

SAM Engineering & Equipment (M) Bhd in Penang is seeking a skilled machinist/technician to coordinate and execute precision machining tasks at our Bayan Lepas facility. You will analyze technical requirements, operate machines, prepare tools, and ensure accurate tool inventory and timely completion of jobs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and solve technical problems to get the job done on time.
• Analyze and work independently on technical drawings, calculations, setup, process, method, tools and equipment.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of tools and obtain periodic cycle counts and validations.
• Issue orders to replenish spare tool inventory when required.
• Maintain neat and organized tools storage systems and tool/fixture identification and location.
• Ensure working environment is clean and safe and follow work instructions.

Job description

To co-ordinate and solve any technical problem within your knowledge in order to get the job done on time.

To analyze and work independently on technical drawing, calculation, set-up, process, method, tools and equipment.

To prepare weekly progress report.

Maintain an accurate of tools and equipment. Neat and organized tools storage systems, tool and fixture identification and location identification.

Maintain an accurate inventory of tools Include periodic cycle count and inventory validation.

Issuing orders to replenish the spare tool inventory when required.

To co-ordinate with others to develop good fabrication process for any job assigned.

To have commitment on estimate hours an arranging and completing all assigned job in time.

Requires the use of micrometers, calipers and bore indicators to determine accuracy of tooling dimension.

Maintaining of machines and arranging for machines to be serviced when required.

Responsible for machining and arranging for cutting tools and equipment preparation.

To ensure the working surrounding is kept clean and safe.

To follow Work Instruction accordingly.

All other responsibilities assigned by Supervisor from time to time.

Requirements:
