Job summary

ITW Meritex Sdn Bhd in Penang, Malaysia is hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer to lead QA inspectors and technicians in daily QA activities. You will manage NCRs, CAPAs and customer complaints, investigate root causes with process owners, and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

The role requires a degree in polymer technology or engineering, 2–3 years of QA experience, and strong competency in QC tools and ISO 9001/ISO 14001 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering/science field.
• 2–3 years of QA experience.
• Proficiency with QC tools and systems.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 is preferred.
• Strong analytical, proactive and independent working skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead a team of QA inspectors and technicians on daily QA activities.
• Control non-conformance reports (NCRs), CAPAs and customer complaints.
• Investigate root causes with process owners and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and maintain QA documentation (SOPs, control plans, inspection criteria).
• Perform acceptance tests on new materials and process changes.
• Monitor supplier/outsource performance and initiate improvements.
• Provide product engineering support for new product introductions and process validations.

Job description

To oversee and lead a team of QA inspectors and technicians to work on daily routine

To control and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), CAPAs, and customer complaints.

To investigate the root causes of quality incidences by working with the various process owners

To institute appropriate corrective and preventive actions accordingly

To develop and maintain QA documentation such as SOPs, control plans, and inspection criteriaTo perform acceptance tests on all new materials and process changes

To monitor the performance of suppliers/ outsources/ subcons and initiate appropriate improvement actions

To provide necessary product engineering support on the new product introductions and process validations.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Polymer Technology/ Mechanical Engineering/ Material Science/ Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• Preferably with 2-3 years of relevant working experience
• Proficiency with SPC, 8D, DOE, FMEA, and other QC tools
• Knowledgeable in ISO 9001 Quality Systems and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
• Technically competent with good analytical skills, result-oriented, proactive, resourceful, with a high degree of independence and perseverance
• Ability to work cross-functionally with other departments.
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Understanding of Mandarin is an added advantage to liaise with China/Taiwan customers
